Each year, people eagerly anticipate tuning in to watch the Oscars. Some prefer cozying up in their pajamas with a bowl of popcorn; others use it as an excuse to throw a party where they can dress up and serve Oscar-themed food.
But however you choose to watch, we can all agree that one of the best parts is seeing what gowns make their way down the red carpet. And while you may not want to wear a formal gown to work, there’s still something to be said about Oscar fashion. Here are a few ways to incorporate this year’s Oscar trends into your everyday wardrobe.
1. Pastels
From Lupita Nyong’o’s Cinderella-esque light blue gown to Penelope Cruz’s pale pink wonder, pastels were a popular choice. Pair a pink or blue dress with a structured blazer for work or dress it up with a sweater and heels for the perfect date night ensemble.

2. Sparkles
It was clear that Angelina Jolie and Cate Blanchett got the memo that 2014 was the year for glitter. Both dresses sparkled as they graced the stage and the red carpet. An embellished skirt can be worn in the office or for a night out on the town.

3. Menswear
The always-funny host of the Oscars, Ellen DeGeneres, pulls off the menswear look better than anybody (except maybe for Whoopi). But don’t let that intimidate you! A simple structured blazer can be enough to take the trend from the red carpet to every day.

4. Ear cuffs
Looking for a less obvious way to add some Oscar fashion to your daily look? Take a cue from Sandra Bullock and Emma Watson by trading your typical earrings for an ear cuff.
