Erin go bragh! On St. Patrick’s Day we’re all just a little bit Irish, even if that comes in the form of a holiday celebration. And, of course, everyone will be donning something emerald. The tradition of wearing green on March 17th dates back to the 1600s when shamrocks and ribbons celebrated Ireland’s patron saint. Irish immigrants brought the tradition with them to the United States where it has flourished and become something of a grand night out.
So what’s a pretty partier to do? Putting on a glittery top hat or flashing “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” badge is not for the fashionable girl on the town. Fortunately, there are some incredibly flattering shades that will help you celebrate while keeping your sartorial dignity.
Colored Denim
Even we aren’t bold enough to suggest bright green jeans. But colored denim looks super cool in army green and olive. Perfect with a black tee and a cute pair of heels.
A Blazer
Granted, a green blazer is a bit out there. But, it keeps you warm, is easily toned down and is a nice nod for those who enjoy going just a bit over the top on the holiday.
Cute Tees
Casual St. Paddy parties call for comfort. Throw a cute cotton tee over a pair of jeans and sneakers and go as green as you like in high Celtic style.
Scarf It Up
If you’d rather simply give a nod to the holiday, wear your usual get up and add a little emerald kiss with a fun infinity scarf.
Accessory to the Party
Don’t forget the jewelry. Darling when finishing off a pretty blouse, a hint of mint will go a long way towards a classy St. Paddy’s night in earrings, necklaces or bangles.
