We color, straighten, curl and condition our hair in hopes of a ‘good hair day’. But sometimes, even with all your primping, your hair fails to be va-va-voom. Never mind—we’ve got some quick tips to banish the blah!
A major culprit of lifeless locks is dreaded product build-up. If you cleanse, treat, and style your hair regularly, chances are you are battling residue. Conditioners, gels, hairspray, hard water and heat protection products can leave dulling deposits on your strands. A quick and easy solution is to mingle a deep cleaning or chelating shampoo into your routine once a week to return shine and bounce to your hair.
If you have a challenging head of hair that needs extra styling to add body, it is probably either fine and thin, and needs fullness, or maybe it’s long and thick, and the weight pulls it down. Either way, there are tricks to achieve sexy volume and get hair to behave. With a teasing brush or comb, and bit of volumizing spray at the roots, your hair can look fuller-bodied almost instantly. Working around your crown, pick up a one to two inch section of hair, and gently back comb at the root. Give each section a quick spray before releasing, then finish by lightly brushing over the sections to smooth them into place.
