Once Memorial Day hits, summer fashion is in full swing.  The hot days mean choosing your look is a very delicate art. For function and style, white is the color to choose.

White Pants

If you’re not sure how to incorporate white, the perfect place to start is with white jeans. The classic un-torn white jean is a great utility player for the summer months.  Wear them at the office, while running errands, or on a night out with friends. A simple change of shoes or addition of a jacket give you the flawless transition for a day-to-night look. The versatility of white jeans provides a great canvas for a variety of tops. Stripes and plaid shirts will look amazing, but a solid bright color like blue, yellow, or red will look equally perfect.

Which brings us to another stellar choice… Blazers! A jacket or blazer is a great addition to your closet with limitless possibilities. White blazers can dress up any outfit. A nice colorful blouse with a white blazer is a classic look. White blazers paired with even a t-shirt and jeans can be a stylish, casual outfit, appropriate for any occasion.

White Hot

Because summer heat can be a brutal force, wearing white jeans or adding an additional white layer may be unrealistic at times. How can you stick to your white look without your clothes sticking to you? For those days when it is 90 degrees by 9am, dresses, skirts, and shorts are everywhere! When you’re on the town, pair white shorts with a light t-shirt, or choose a flowing skirt with a billowing blouse for the office.

Your Best Hue

There are all sorts of shades of white to love, ranging from ivory, eggshell and cream, to pearl, ghost and snow. White can be a challenge, but not an impossible feat; make sure to find the shade that best complements your skin. A soft white will complement the lightest of skin tones. If your skin is a more pinkish glow you should stick to neutrals, and muted colors like cream. If you have more golden skin tone you should wear earthy tones and ivory is the perfect choice. If you have dark features you should wear those stunning, and radiant whites.

As always, when deciding what to wear, the details of your daily activity should thoughtfully be considered. Will there be food - BBQ perhaps? Will an impromptu water balloon fight break out? For any sensible, stylish gal these events could be a white-outfit deal breaker. But remember, you only get three months to look this effortlessly cool in your white, so play it up while you can!
