With the month of May comes a flurry of graduations across the country, which means people are looking for the perfect gift for those headed off to college. No matter your relation (fellow grad, family member, best friend), budget, or student personality, we’ve come up with a list of gifts that any grad will love.
High tech:
For the tech-obsessed - in other words, all teenagers these days - your options are endless. A travel phone charger is always a winner so that they can be plugged in (literally and figuratively) wherever they go. An even cooler phone accessory? Wireless bluetooth speakers. Whether they’re studying in their dorm room or hanging with friends in the quad, they can bring their music with them. On the opposite end of the spectrum: noise-canceling headphones. Perfect for late nights at the library to keep them focused and productive.

Old school:
While we all recognize the benefits of technology, some more old-fashioned gifts will also be appreciated. Sure, most teens have e-readers, but there’s something about an actual book that makes you want to curl up under a blanket. How about a set of the classics, or even a sci-fi/adventure series for moments of escape? For those living on their own for the first time, a beginner’s cookbook is sure to come in handy. And though it may seem silly at first, a board game (think classic Monopoly or the more current Settlers of Catan) will be welcome entertainment on a rainy day.

Dorm necessities:
You can never fail with some simple but useful gifts that every college dorm room needs. Storage bins can help organize what is sure to be a small space, while a nice set of sheets might make him or her feel more at home. A nice weekender bag can encourage some quick trips back home, and a lightweight vacuum will help keep their room just a tiny bit cleaner (one can hope).

Book nerd, technophile, or something in between, with these gifts you’re sure you score two thumbs up from the college-bound student in your life.
