It’s difficult to always try so hard to be cool. This summer, give it a rest and try super hard, instead, to not be so cool. That’s right. Be the coolest, uncoolest guy on your block by channeling your inner nerd. No, not the dweebs of yore with pocket protectors and Coke bottle glasses. Where have you been? Right now, the richest, smartest, most desirable men are geeks, and the names behind Facebook, Microsoft and Google. In fact, they’re inheriting the Earth, to coin a new phrase.
What you’ll need:
Shirts: Go for brightly colored polos in greens, yellows, or blue hues. Mix it up with graphic tees, especially designs that favor video games or cartoon characters. Don’t be afraid to go a bit old school with a button down shirt and a retro tie, even a bowtie.
Bottoms: The “I’m cooler than you. You just don’t know it yet” favored pant is the skinny colored jean, often the same color as your shirt. You can even go with skinny khakis or plain denim, just not in a dark wash.
Feet: Try some ultra white high top sneakers with, of course, wild laces. Lace them up differently from the norm to show your superior intelligence and your lack of patience with anything typical.
Accessorize: Add black rimmed vintage-style glasses and some hair pomade.
