Winter hair can be a frizzy mess, but it doesn’t have to be. There are a lot of simple, inexpensive ways to keep your hair looking healthy and shiny every day. Getting a weekly blowout is fabulous, but the price quickly adds up. But, waking up to stress-free hair is possible with a few tweaks to your daily routine. Keep the stylist appointment for the big holiday party and in the meantime follow these easy tips.
Tip 1: Wash your hair every other day. This rule can be hard to stick with but it will do wonders for your mane. Switching up your shampoo and conditioner is great for reviving dull hair. We recommend keeping two different brands on hand so when you hair starts to look dull, switch it up! For bangs, wash them in the sink for a quick pick-me-up that makes tired hair look fresh.
Tip 2: Winter weather can zap you hair of moisture so we recommended a deep conditioning treatment at least once a week. If your hair tends to get oily, look for a deep conditioner that’s oil free and only conditions the ends. Also remember before you step out of the shower to blast your hair with cold water, this keeps the shine and moisture locked in.
Tip 3: Dry Shampoo is your new best friend. Powder or spray formulas can keep your hair looking clean and smelling great in between washes. Keep one in your desk drawer or in your car for emergencies! Not only do they soak up oil but they are also great for styling too.
Tip 4: When all else fails…braid it. Braids were the hot hairstyle this season on the runways. Braids and are great way to polish up any look, and actually hold better with dirty hair too. Fishtail braids are a sexy alternative to the classic French braid. Keep hair out of your face with a crown braid, or try a small braid leading into a messy ponytail.
