You won't find thermal underwear, ski masks, and Sasquatch-sized galoshes gracing the pages of any fashion glossies. But at iconic lodges like those in Aspen and Vail—where beautiful vistas are rivaled only by beautiful guests—looking cool is as important as staying warm. Here's how to achieve snow-bunny chic.
Après-ski was the inspiration for many designers this past season, with models donning classic knits in reimagined patterns. At Tommy Hilfiger, there was everything from high-performance parkas with fun bungee cords to Technicolor printed shirt dresses. Cropped, alpine-inspired bomber jackets topped off leather skirts at Louis Vuitton and velveteen tights at Rag & Bone.

Fortunately, this trend is effortlessly transferable from the catwalk to the chalet. Underneath your ski gear, wear a fair-isle sweater, chunky cable knit, or fringed poncho. If you find mixing prints intimidating, try color-blocking for a sporty feel. Fleece-lined joggers are on trend, but a silk pair will look and feel luxurious when curling up by the fire. Or add a bit of edge to an otherwise cozy outfit with leather leggings. Then tuck them into thick, stripy camp socks. Top off your look with shearling earmuffs and a brightly hued infinity scarf.

Ski gear may get more technologically advanced each year, but après-ski style is classic and easy to update...even if you never leave the lodge.
